Company Overview: 

This company produce an extensive line of in house designed fine home furnishings, including lightning, furniture, accessories and outdoor.


Shift Schedule:  7:30am to 3:30pm  


Pay: $19.53 per hour

Location: Doraville, GA


Summary Description

The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) is responsible for support of the maintenance of product quality assurance and establishment of a quality management standard.  The QA Tech will assist in the development of formal quality standards and ensuring product meets compliance and regulatory requirements. Includes the development and engineering of all methods and practices for items being introduced into the company product Lines as well as active items in the current Product Line.  The QA Tech will provide support to the Design team, Product Development staff and Manufacturing staff regarding quality standards and compliance.


SCOPE:

The QA Tech will lead the development and implementation of Quality Standards, understand the products and how they’re assembled, wired and packaged, perform QA, and support the compliance, regulatory and health and safety practices for Product Engineering.


Essential Duties:


Development and Implementation of Quality Standards


  • Assist in the formalization of quality systems for packaging (ITSA), wiring (UL) finishing (Finish Control System), and overall product engineering.


  • Ensure all documentation regarding quality is updated and properly administered.  Includes all Standard Operating Procedures and Product Standards.


  • Collaborate with other departments (PD, Production, and Repair) to ensure quality standards are understood and followed.     Includes standards for finishing, wiring, packaging, and product material


Product Engineering- Assembly, Wiring and Packaging Standards


  • Develop an understanding of the assembly, wiring, and packaging specifications from overseas vendors for all new introductions


  • Develop proficiency in SketchUp software to complete detailed Drawings of the assembly, wiring, and packaging of our product to help our overseas vendors and our Atlanta facility understand how our product should be assembled, wired, or packaged.


  • Developed and introduced packing methods, techniques, and materials to Atlanta Manufacturing staff and Product Development team.


Product Engineering- Quality Assurance


  • Provide support and guidance to the Atlanta Quality Control team, Manufacturing staff, and Product Development staff regarding quality issues, product engineering, compliance, and regulatory requirements


Product Compliance and Regulatory Requirements


  • Develop an understanding of industry and governmental regulatory requirements and standards and assist in ensuring to be a resource for other departments in the organization


  • Assist in the development of regulatory standards relevant to product specifications


Health and Safety:


  • Foster awareness to all company personnel concerning issues involving the health and safety of all Currey & Company employees.     


  • Encourage new procedures and training activities that will strengthen knowledge and perception in order to create a safe working environment




REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED, hands on product handling or management. Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Experience with writing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong analytical and mathematics skills.
  • Knowledge of automated testing software.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Windows and MS Office Suite
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse and office environment.
  • Must be comfortable handling different products (chandelier, lamps, furniture, and accessories) and be able to lift up to 50lbs. with assisted lifts or other tools/equipment.
